The year that all plans changed

This year will be remembered by everyone for many reasons. For some, it’s the year that families started eating dinner together again. For others, it’s a year dedicated to hand sanitizer and Lysol wipes. But one thing that everyone will universally remember is that 2020 is the year that everything changed. School children learned remotely. College students came home. Masks were considered to be an essential part of an outfit. And vacation plans were ruined.

While the changing vacation plans hit everyone hard, no group was more upset than couples planning weddings and honeymoons. The ever-changing regulations about gatherings, the opening and closing of borders, and the cancellations of flights made planning weddings and honeymoons quite challenging this year.

The clients pictured here had originally chosen Sandals Barbados for their honeymoon. They booked a swim-out room with a butler, and they were eagerly watching to see when Barbados would announce its reopening. When it became clear than answer wasn’t coming quickly enough, and with the passport office backed up for months, the couple opted for a honeymoon in the states.

I directed them to Bungalows Key Largo, an adults-only all-inclusive resort in the Keys. There, they enjoyed their private waterfront bungalow, gorgeous sunsets, and laid-back vibe that’s famous in the Keys. I was thrilled to help them find a relaxing spot to unwind after the stress of 2020 wedding planning. Congratulations and best wishes to this newly-married couple!
